Don’t worry! Samsung Galaxy Note 9’s 4000mAh battery is safer than ever, confirms CEO DJ Koh

The year after that, Samsung played it safe and the Galaxy Note 8 had a smaller battery, at 3300mAh, compared to the Note 7’s 3500mAh battery.

However, the newly launched Galaxy Note 9 has a 4000mAh battery and the head of Samsung’s Mobile business has said that engineers are confident in the safety of the device’s battery.

“The battery in the Galaxy Note 9 is safer than ever. Users do not have to worry about the batteries anymore,” Koh said to The Investor. Koh also said the stylus pen of the Galaxy Note smartphones will continue to evolve further down the road.

In India, the Galaxy Note 9 for the 6GB RAM, 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 67,900 while the 8GB RAM, 512GB internal storage variant is priced at Rs 84,900. The device will be available for pre-orders from August 10 to August 21 and will go on sale on August 22.

Customers who purchase the device with HDFC Bank cards will get a cashback of Rs 6,000. Additionally, the Gear Sport, priced at Rs 22,900 will be available for Rs 4,999 on pre-ordering the device. It will also be available via the Samsung Shop, with an exchange discount of up to Rs 6,000. It will be available in Midnight Black, Metallic Copper, Ocean Blue and Lavender Purple color variants.

In terms of specifications, the device features a 6.4-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 1440x2960pixels resolution and an aspect ratio of 18.5:9. It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor, paired with 6GB/8GB RAM options. It will be offered in two storage variants – 128GB and 512GB along with a microSD card, expandable up to 512GB.

Running Android Oreo, the smartphone comes equipped with a dual rear camera set up – 12MP + 12MP sensors along with an 8MP front facing camera. Connectivity features include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, NFC, 3G and 4G. A 4000mAh battery completes the package.
