Just a few weeks after Google unveiled Android Oreo, the Android distribution numbers for the month of September have been released by the company. Google has also shared a pie chart that reveals data about the relative number of devices running a given version of the Android platform.
The numbers are compiled from Android devices that accessed the Play Store during a seven-day period ending on 11th September.
Both versions of Android Nougat are up slightly, and have a total share of 15.8 percent. While Android 7.0 rose by 1.9 percent, to 14.2 percent, Android 7.1 saw a smaller 0.4 percent rise to 1.6 percent. Last month, Nougat’s share was slightly lower at 13.5 percent. However, Android Oreo is absent from the chart, even though it’s three weeks since its release on the latest Pixel and Nexus devices.
Android Marshmallow is almost the same as last month, while Android Lollipop came down by 0.4 percen tand and KitKat's share came down by 1 percent.
