Airtel refreshes Rs 168 plan; will now offer 1GB daily data for 28 days

Airtel has refreshed its prepaid plan for Rs 168, and will now offer 1GB of 4G data per day along with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls. Additionally, customers will also get 100 SMSes per day. This plan is valid for 28 days. This plan is for select subscribers in the Delhi and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana telecom circles respectively.

Airtel has refreshed its prepaid plan for Rs 168, and will now offer 1GB of 4G data per day along with unlimited local, STD and roaming calls. Additionally, customers will also get 100 SMSes per day. This plan is valid for 28 days. This plan is for select subscribers in the Delhi and Andhra Pradesh and Telangana telecom circles respectively. 

Reports suggest that the company is also offering a free subscription to its Hello Tunes caller tune service. A report by Telecom Talk points out that Hello Tune will be activated on the recharged number within four hours from the recharge time. Airtel also allows users to change the Hello Tunes to their desired one.

Recently, Airtel was offering a three-month free Netflix subscription through the Airtel TV and My Airtel apps for postpaid users and V-Fiber Home Broadband plans. After the three-month period, subscribers will have to pay for their Netflix subscription using their Airtel postpaid or home broadband bill.

Airtel will announce details of eligible postpaid mobile and home broadband plans in the next few weeks. If you are not a part of the select plans, you can upgrade to those plans to avail three months Netflix access. Airtel stated that the Netflix content can be accessed on the apps through a dedicated row on the Airtel TV app.

Telecom Regulator TRAI has imposed penalties on major operators, including Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, Vodafone and Idea Cellular (now merged), for slipping on various service quality benchmarks for the March quarter, according to multiple sources.

The fines cover various parameters and service areas, and all the operators are in the process of making the payment, sources told PTI. About Rs 34 lakh fine has been imposed for March 2018 quarter on Reliance Jio, the aggressive player whose offerings since 2016 have shaken the market and triggered a bruising tariff war among operators.

Bharti Airtel -- which was the largest telecom operator in the country till the merger of Vodafone and Idea Cellular shuffled the pecking order late last month -- has been fined to the tune of about Rs 11 lakh for the three months to March, as per sources.
