Lee, who won his fourth All-England Open this year, has won three silver medals at World Badminton Championships.

France's Brice Leverdez caused the biggest upset of the World Badminton Championships by defeating men's second seed Chong Wei Lee in in Glasgow on Tuesday.
Leverdez beat Lee 21-19, 22-24, 21-17 in 75 minutes. Leverdez had two match points in the second game but a successful hawk eye challenge on the second match point saved Lee from a straight games exit. In the decider, the 34-year-old Malaysian led 15-10 - but the Frenchman fought back for a win.
Lee, who won his fourth All-England Open this year, has never won a gold medal at the champimoships despite reaching the final three times. He issued an apology to his fans after the loss saying 'he didn't manage to play his best.'

India's good show in the singles event continued on Tuesday as PV Sindhu, Sai Praneeth and Ajay Jayaram were victorious in their respective matches. Kidambi Srikanth, Sameer Verma, Tanvi Shah and Rituparna Das have made it to the next round on the opening day.
