Sindhu defeated Japan's Nozomi Okuhara to become the first Indian to win the Korea Open.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, cricket legends Virender Sehwag and Sachin Tendulkar and Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan led India in congratulating PV Sindhu for her win at the Korea Open super series.
PM Modi's official twitter handle @PMOIndia posted a congratulatory message to Sindhu. 'India is immensly proud of her accomplishment,' said PM Modi.
