The Force met the ARU in the Sydney court on Wednesday and the appeal hearing was quickly granted, the ARU's website said (rugby.com.au).

The court will hear the appeal directly on Wednesday following a review of written submissions, the ARU said.

The ARU committed to cutting one of its five Super Rugby teams as the competition contracts from 18 to 15 teams next season.

The Force has said it would pursue all legal avenues to try to remain in the competition.
