Telecom operator Reliance Jio (RJio) will provide free Wi-Fi services at six cricket stadiums during the upcoming T20 World Cup matches.

"Reliance Jio will install Wi-Fi network at six stadiums that will be complimentary for the audience and provide unlimited access," said a Reliance Jio spokesperson to reporters while launching the services at Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium in New Delhi.

The company's WiFi network Jio Net will be available in Eden Garden at Kolkata, Wankhede Stadium (Mumbai), IS Bindra Stadium (Mohali), HPCA stadium (Dharamshala), Chinnaswamy Stadium (Bengaluru) and Feroz Shah Kotla (New Delhi).

Jio Net was made operational at Wankhede Stadium during India and South Africa One-Day series in April 2015, where the company witnessed a record data usage.

"We supported connectivity for about 30,000 people in Mumbai. At any given point, 20,000 people were continuously connected via Jio Net. It was delivering a speed of 15-35 megabit per second," the spokesperson said.

At Feroz Shah Kotla, Reliance Jio has installed 650 access points to support 40,000 connected devices during T20 matches, starting March 23.

Jio Net will support 68,000 connections at Eden Garden, 41,000 at Feroz Shah Kotla, 33,000 at Wankhede, 26,000 at Mohali, 35,000 at Chinnaswamy Stadium and 23,000 at Dharamshala Stadium.

RJio is gearing up for the commercial launch of 4G services. It has recently done a soft launch of the services for its employees.
