PV Sindhu was on Monday nominated for the prestigious Padma Bhushan award - India's third highest civilian honour.
According to an ANI report, the ace shuttler, who recently became the first Indian to clinch the Korea Open Super Series title, was nominated for the award by the Sports Ministry. It was Sindhu's third Super Series title after she won the China Open in 2015 and the India Open earlier this year.

When she recieves the award, Sindhu will join the elite club of shuttlers comprising of Saina Nehwal and Pullela Gopichand. In March 2015, Sindhu was conferred India’s fourth highest civilian honour – Padma Shri.
