Pro Volleyball League 2019: PVL players present Mumbai team jersey to Sunil Gavaskar

India has seen the rise of many professional leagues in several sports in the last few years. Now it is time for Volleyball. The inaugural edition of Pro Volleyball League featuring the best of Indian and international athletes starts on February 2. 

Before the start of the league, Pro Volleyball League stars Mohan Ukkrapandian from Kochi Blue Spikers and Ranjit Singh from Ahmedabad Defenders met cricketing legend Sunil Gavaskar. They presented Gavaskar with the official U Mumba Volley jersey. 

The 21-day league which will see six teams - Ahmedabad Defenders, Calicut Heroes, Chennai Spartans, U Mumba Volley, Black Hawks Hyderabad and Kochi Blue Spikers - competing in Kochi and Chennai. Kochi Blue Spikers will take on U Mumba Volley in the first match of the league while the final is scheduled to take place on February 22 in Chennai.

The first season will see a total of 18 matches where each team will play against each other in a round robin format. The 18 matches are divided in two legs to be held in the two cities.
