The Manchester clubs sit at the top of the table after gameweek 5 of the premier league 2017-18. Champions Chelsea are three points adrift they being held to nil-nil draw at home by Arsenal. Let's look at some of the biggest talking points of the week.
Manchester rules
At the end of the week, both there was nothing separating the two Manchester clubs- not even goal difference. Manchester City, who sit just over their rivals in tha table just by the virtue of C coming before U, demolished Watford 6-0 on Saturday. Manchester United demolished Everton in the final 10 minutes of their encounter to prevail with another 4-0 scoreline on Sunday.
Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola have very talented sides at their disposal and they are taking no prisoners right now. Both of them are going for total destruction and it would be interesting to watch when they meet each other in the future.
Wembley's curse continues
When Tottenham Hotspur defeated Borussia Dortmund in the Champions League, it seemed Supurs had finally vanished their Wembley curse.
However, Mauricio Pochettino's suffered another setback as they were held 0-0 at their temporary home by a resolute Swansea. Even Pochettino, who has tried to play down the Wembley jinx, admitted he was at a loss to explain how his side failed to turn 26 shots into three points.
Klopp's flop defense
It's not going very well for Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp right now. Liverpool's defensive errors have always been its biggest bane and it was another of those that gifted the Burnley's Scott Arfield the goal on Saturday.
Klopp, who is without a lot of big players, could find it difficult to hold on to the hjob if he doesn't fix the defensive malaise soon.
Arsenal show some pride
Arsenal showed some fighting spirit to earn a gritty 0-0 draw against 10-man Chelsea on Sunday after years of misery at Stamford Bridge.
Arsenal have not begun the season very well, but for once they were up to the task. The north Londoners must feeling quite confident by their first clean-sheet at the Bridge since 2005.
