Jose Mourinho's Manchester United kick off their campaign at home against West Ham United while Newcastle United host Tottenham Hotspur on the first Sunday of the new Premier League season.
Jose Mourinho is expected to hand starts to new signings Romelu Lukaku and Nemanja Matic. Lukaku has already scored in the club's defeat to Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup. Meanwhile, Hammers will arrive in Manchester with former United striker Javier Hernandez in the fold. Hernandez is one of four potential West Ham debutants, along with goalkeeper Joe Hart, forward Marko Arnautovic and full-back Pablo Zabaleta.
In the other match, Newcastle United will look to repeat their performance of the last day of the 2015-16 season when they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 5-1. However, since then Newcastle have spent a season in the championship while Spurs have grown in strength and become serious title contenders.
Winger Jacob Murphy and defenders Javier Manquillo and Florian Lejeune could make their debuts for Newcastle. Dwight Gayle is set to be available despite a recent hamstring problem but DeAndre Yedlin is out with a similar injury.
Tottenham full-back Kieran Trippier suffered minor ligament damage last weekend and will miss out, along with Georges-Kevin Nkoudou. Danny Rose and Erik Lamela are still sidelined by long-term injuries.
