Huddersfield Town are set to debut while Brighton and Hove Albion return after 23 years. Newcastle United on the other hand will be keen to regain lost glory. As the new Premier League season approaches, we take a look at the teams that arrived from championship this year:

Huddersfield Town

Huddersfield Town are set for their first ever season in the Premier League. The Terriers dramatically clinched promotion through the Championship play-offs last season.

Manager: Their promotion is testimony to the miracles that manager David Wagner has worked at the club. After taking charge in 2015-16, the Jurgen Klopp disciple brought in 13 new players in the summer of 2016 and fashioned them into a winning side.

What To Expect: Since winning entry to the top tier they’ve set about strengthening their squad with ten new players moving to the club, including Aaron Mooy, Tom Ince and Steve Mounie. They also have a solid defence led by German Christopher Schindler, who played in every game last season and completed nearly 300 clearances and close to a 100 interceptions. One must remember that they got promoted with a negative goal difference. They have been working to strengthen their attacking line with the arrival of two strikers this summer.

Key players: Steve Mounié from Ligue 1 side Montpellier arrived for £11,700,000 while Aaron Mooy has extended his loan stay from Manchester City. Tom Ince and Christopher Schindler will be other key players for the side.

Nickname: The Terriers

Home Ground: Kirklees Stadium

Verdict: Though they are everybody's favourite on the relegation list, it won't be wise to write them off so early.

Brighton and Hove Albion

Brighton and Hove Albion’s last home game in the top division of English football was against Manchester City in 1983. Curiously, City will be their first opponents on their return to the top tier. There is no doubt that Brighton are one of the more attractive sides to watch but they’ll have to certainly up their game to survive in Premier League.

Manager: Chris Hughton has achieved a lot in the three years in charge. He took a team on the verge of dropping down to the third tier to the play-offs last year. This year, he had taken them one step further. In his earlier stint as a premier league manager (with Norwich), Hughton was often criticised for his negative style of play, but with Brighton he seems to have found a new level.

What To Expect: Brighton have brought in midfielder Davy Propper from PSV Eindhoven and Colombian winger Jose Izquierdo from Club Brugge. Pascal Gross and Markus Suttner have also been brought in. The side has a strong European influence and could trouble the best on a good day.

Key players: Anthony Knockaert was named Championship Player of the Season last year. Dale Stephens will be a key player in the midfield while Lewis Dunk and Shane Duffy will take charge at the back.

Nickname: Seagulls

Home Ground: Falmer Stadium

Verdict: Brighton are also expected to return to championship but if they manage a solid start against City in their first game, it may give them some belief. They need to hit the ground running.

Newcastle United

To call Newcastle a new team in the premier league is like calling Sun just another star. Newcastle have been one of giants of English club football with one of the biggest fan bases in the country. When they were relegated to the second tier last year, it was expected they will be back sooner or later. Rafa Benitez made sure it was sooner.

Manager: Rafa Benitez has delivered since taking the charge. The Magpies were top of the table for most of the season and were always the top pick for promotion.

What To Expect: Newcastle will not need much time to settle down in the top tier. They already have players with top flight experience. However, they need to maintain momentum and manage fan expectations better. It will be interesting to keep an eye on owner Mike Ashley, as always.

Key players: Newcastle’s main signing this summer has been Eibar defender Florian Lejeune for £8.7 million. Dwight Gayle, Matt Ritchie, and Ayoze Perez are names to watch out for.

Nickname: The Magpies

Home ground: St James' Park

Verdict: Benitez is a veteran of premier league football and he will be the key to Newcastle's performance. However, he has been complaining about the lack of support in terms of money. Magpies fans are always the most demanding of all.
