Manchester United are facing a tough time under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer. The English club are currently 15th in the Premier League, having suffered three defeats in six games against Crystal Palace, Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal. In the UEFA Champions League, after winning their game against Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United suffered a shocking 1-2 loss to Istanbul Baseksehir which was the Turkish’s side first-ever win against a top-flight European club. Ahead of their Premier League game against Everton at Goodison Park, the pressure is immense on Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and there are plenty of speculations about his future with the club.

After the loss to Istanbul Baseksehir, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer refused to comment on his future and instead wanted to focus on the future games. “I decline to comment on such a thing. It is early on. Opinions are there all the time. We have to stay strong. I am employed by the club to do a job and I'm doing that to the best of my ability with my staff,” Solskjaer said.

However, there are rumors in the English media that the pressure for Solskjaer to leave Manchester United will only increase if they lose to Everton. According to reports, Mauricio Pochettino, who was sacked by Tottenham Hotspur in November 2019, could be the likely replacement for Solskjaer in case Manchester United decide to part ways with him.

Not a good choice

However, according to former Scotland footballer and ex-Manchester United player Alan Brazil, he has backed Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers for the top job at Manchester United.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Brazil remarked, “I’d give Brendan the job at Manchester United. If Ole is to go then I would look no further than Rodgers. He’s done a brilliant job at Leicester. Yes, he’s had money, but I don’t care, look at the table as well. He is top class.”

Manchester United will be desperate to snap their inconsistency in the Premier League and other competitions as they face Everton before the two-week international break.
