For all this while, the Golden State Warriors refused to look too far ahead. Each time a question was asked about 16-0, every Warrior – player or coach -- would diplomatically throw the one-game-at-a-time cliche. They can now afford to look at 16-0. Having beaten Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 3 of the NBA Finals to register their 15th straight win in the NBA Play-offs, Warriors can become the only team in the history of the league to remain undefeated in the Play-offs should they win Game 4 on Friday.

It would also give them their maiden NBA championship, and complete the sweep on the Cavs. “It is now,” Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry said here on Thursday. “It’s not in terms of 16-0 and what that means historically … Now we can look ahead to Friday, all our focus is on that. We want 16 wins.  Now that we’re in this situation, why not take care of business and finish the job?” he added.

The home fans will desperately hope that’s not the case. The home fans will desperately hope the Cavs can pull one off and live to fight another day.   Despite playing quality basketball for 46 minutes in Game 3, the Cavs ended up on the losing side thanks to two bad minutes in the end. The defending champions will need to do it all over again for 46 minutes, plus ensure they do not have those two sloppy minutes to stand a chance of winning.

“I feel like if we come in with the same energy, same effort and physicality as we did in Game 3, we will give ourselves a good chance to win,” LeBron James said on Thursday. “Now, does that result in a win? It’s to see. Because we played well in Game 3, and they were able to get that one as well,” he added.

Therein lies the scale of the mountain the Cavs have to climb.
