Kevin De Bruyne was carried off on a stretcher late in Manchester City's 0-0 draw at Crystal Palace in the Premier League on Sunday. Earlier, Gabriel Jesus had also left the pitch injured and in tears. The draw ended City's 18-match winning streak.

Belgium international De Bruyne, who has been instrumental to City's success this season, suffered the injury after a foul by Palace's Jason Puncheon in stoppage time at Selhurst Park and left the pitch on a stretcher, with his right leg in a brace.

Earlier in the match, Jesus landed awkwardly, and had to be withdrawn. He made his way to the dressing room in tears, consoled by City's medical staff.

The extent of the injuries has yet to be determined but with the Premier League leaders having a clash with Watford in two days' time, manager Pep Guardiola will certainly be hoping for good news after both players undergo tests.

Brazilian attacker Jesus was visibly upset on the sidelines and had to be consoled by head coach Pep Guardiola, before Sergio Aguero replaced him in the 23rd minute. Initial suspicions were that it could be a cruciate knee injury, similar to those suffered by team-mates Benjamin Mendy and Ilkay Gundogan, and he is reported to have left Selhurst Park on crutches.

Afterwards Pep Guardiola said: “Gabriel Jesus is injured, he will be out for maybe one month or two months.”

A draw still leaves City 14 points clear of last year’s champions Chelsea, 15 points clear of Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United and 18 points clear of Liverpool.
