The stars of Indian hockey will be in the limelight on Kaun Banega Crorepati.
Indian men's hockey team is currently busy preparing for the upcoming World Cup. Unlike their famed counterparts from cricket, the hockey heroes rarely get their moment under spotlight.
However, the stars of Indian hokcey will be in the limelight on the pouplar show Kaun Banega Crorepati. Several India hockey players recently appeared for an episode of the quiz show hosted by Amitabh Bachchan.
The hockey players not only won the hearts of the audience present, but Amitabh Bachchan was also overwhelmed by their presence.
"T 2942 – Honouring the Indian Hockey Team on KBC Karmveer episode .. their dedication , their effort for the country is beyond compare .. जब हम अपने देश के खिलाड़ियों को सम्मानित करते हैं तो हम भारत को समानित करते हैं ,, देश का गौरव हैं ये ; तिरंगे की शान और मान हैं ये", he tweeted after finishing the shoot.
Several players took part in the show including PR Sreejesh and Sardar Singh.
Bachchan wrote on his blog: “Sport is the identity of a nation .. when we excel in a routine the world takes notice. Sportsmen are a nation’s brand ambassadors… for merit for glory for the recognition that we are blessed with.”
He also urged fans to support the Indian men’s hockey team in the World Cup.
“Our men’s hockey team taking on in a month, the challenge of the World Cup to be held in Odisha in November. Our pride our heroes. They need our support and encouragement. Come in large numbers to cheer for them in Bhubaneswar, Odisha."
“The cheers that surround the playing field is the adrenalin that players need for achieving victory,” he added.
The 2018 Hockey World Cup will be played in Odisha's Bhubneswar from November 28 to December 16 where 16 teams will compete for the trophy.
