Gold medalist at recently concluded Asian Athletics Championships and India's leading shot putter Manpreet Kaur has failed doping test, reports Hindustan Times.

Manpreet Kaur was tested positive for the stimulant Dimethylbutylamine for the in-competition test conducted by National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA) during Federation Cup in Patiala from June 1-4, reports the daily.

Kaur will have to appear before NADA disciplinary panel for a hearing. If she fails to prove her innocence, she might lose the gold medal.

The shot putter has qualified for next month's World Athletics Championships in London. Since Dimethylbutylamin comes under the unspecified category of the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), Kaur is eligible to take part in the world meet.

Kaur's brilliant throw of 18.28m at the Bhubaneshwar meet won her gold medal.
