Chennai Strikers beat Delhi Dons 4-1 in the Indian Cue Masters League match here today, overcoming their opening day setback against Gujarat Kings.

Chennai Strikers' player Pankaj Advani won both mixed doubles with Vidya Pillai, and snooker singles against Kelly Fisher, in the match being played at city's Rajpath Club.

Advani, the 16-time world champion, was ably complemented by Pillai in the mixed doubles, as the pair trounced Kelly Fisher and Manan Chandra of Delhi Dons 20-5, 22-18.

In snooker singles, Advani showed his class as he rounded up the first frame easily, running away to a 32-0 lead, but Kelly fought back and jumped to 26-6 lead as Advani made a couple of unforced errors.

But with just one red and all the colours left on the table, he went on a pocketing spree to take the frame 36-26 and the crucial point.

His team-mate Dharmender Lilly won his singles pool match against Malkeet Singh as well as mixed doubles with the in-form Pillai in the pool doubles.

In another match, Gujarat Kings lost to Hyderabad Hustlers, with the duo from Madhya Pradesh, Kamal Chawla and Amee Kamani beating a highly rated Andrew Pagett and Daria Sirotina 2-0.

In singles pool, Amir Sarkhosh beat Pagett, and Kamal Chawla. Also, Amir Sarkhosh swept aside veteran Alok Kumar's challenge in straight frames to give his side a 2-0 lead.

World no 2 Kamal Chawla also beat Kings' Brijesh Damani 4-1.
