Gujarat Kings stunned Chennai Strikers 3-2 in the inaugural mixed doubles snooker match of the Indian Cue Masters League which started here today.
International duo of Andrew Pagett and Daria Sirotina got the first point for Gujarat Kings in the match by easily overcoming Indian pair of Pankaj Advani and Vidya Pillai in the three-frame encounter.
Advani was also defeated in a straight battle against the Welsh Wizard Pagett in singles snooker game. Pagett defeated Advani 37-30, making the victory 2-1 in favour of the Kings.
"We wanted to put them under pressure right away and that's exactly what we managed," Pagett said after the game.
"It was a great team performance and everything went according to plan," he said.
In the mixed doubles pool game, Vidya Pillai partnered Dharminder Lilly to defeat the pair of Alok Kumar and Daria Sirotina.
