If one looks at the achievements of Serena Williams in the modern era of tennis, it is staggering. She has won the Australian and Wimbledon titles seven times. She has won the US Open six times and the French Open three times. Not only has Serena Williams achieved the Career Grand Slam in singles, she has also achieved the career Grand Slam in doubles as well, winning the Australian Open four times, the US and French Opens twice and Wimbledon six times with sister Venus Williams. Serena has gone one better, winning gold medals in the Olympics both in doubles and singles in 2000, 2008 and 2012. In fact, she has won the doubles gold thrice in Sydney, Beijing and London.

She has achieved it all in the tennis world. Her tally of 23 Grand Slams is the most by any player in the history of the Open Era, beating Steffi Graf’s 22. Serena has confirmed her participation in the French Open and at age 39, she could become the oldest winner of a Grand Slam singles title in the Open Era.

However, time is running out for Serena. She has not won a Grand Slam since 2017 and the French Open since 2015. Her tally of 23 is just one short of equaling the record of 24 set by Margaret Court of Australia, although if one argues in the Open Era, Court won only 10 titles.

Here is the list of achievements by Serena Williams on the occasion of her birthday in the World of Tennis
