Rohit Sharma on Wednesday blasted all media reports of his earlier failed Yo-Yo test and said none of the rumours were ever true.

Rohit Sharma has cleared the Yo-Yo Test and is set to be a part of the Indian team that departs for the England tour on June 23. Captain Virat Kohli and others had comfortably cleared the test last week.

It was earlier reported that Rohit took the Yo-Yo Test at the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru on the 15th of this month and failed it. He subsequently asked for another attempt which he got on Tuesday but failed to appear for. The Mumbai batsman was offered yet another opportunity on Wednesday, which he finally managed to pass.

Clearing all the rumours of his failed fitness tests, Rohit Sharma posted on Twitter saying, "Dear... it’s no ones business how & where I spend my time.I’m entitled to have time off as long as I follow protocol.Let’s debate some real news shall we & to a few channels, I had just 1 chance to clear my yo-yo that was today.Verification before reporting is always a good idea."

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has made it mandatory for each player to get a minimum score of 16.1 to be eligible to play for the national side. The likes of Yuvraj Singh and Raina were the first ones to flunk the test last year. Recently, Sanju Samson and Mohammed Shami failed the test as well. While Samson was then dropped from the India A side, Shami was left out of the Afghanistan Test.

In a corrective measure, the BCCI then decided to conduct the Yo-Yo Test before selecting players. This step was taken after the Committee of Administrators (CoA) questioned the odd process of testing the fitness of a player after naming him in a squad. A BCCI official was quoted as saying that this process, which put players in an 'awkward situation', will be replaced since the CoA intervened.

India's tour of the United Kingdom starts with two T20Is against Ireland on June 27 and 29. The Kohli-led squad then takes on England in three T20 Internationals, three ODIs and five Tests, starting July 3.
