Manchester United has confirmed that Marouane Fellaini will leave the club on a permanent transfer to Shandong Luneng Taishan FC in China.

Marouane Fellaini was one of the first signings made in the post-Ferguson era under David Moyes for 27 million pounds. The Belgium international arrived at Old Trafford from Everton in August 2013 and went on to make 177 appearances throughout five-and-a-half seasons with the side.

According to reports, the Red Devils will receive 10 million pounds for the Belgian midfielder, who has fallen out of favour under caretaker boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and been deemed surplus to requirements by the club.

Fellaini scored 22 goals and helped the club to win four trophies - the Emirates FA Cup, FA Community Shield, League Cup and UEFA Europa League.

"Everybody at United thanks Marouane for his service and wishes him well for the future as he completes his move to Shandong Luneng Taishan FC in China," the club said in a statement.
