Sprinter Dutee Chand, on Tuesday, announced that she has been selected in the 25-member team for upcoming IAAF World Championships in Doha from September 27 to October 6.

"I am selected in the 25-member national team for #DohaWorldChampionships, starting September 27. Wish me luck and SPEED," Chand tweeted.

The selection committee, which announced 25 including 16 men and 9 women for the Worlds on Monday, had approved the names of sprinters Dutee Chand (100m women), Archana Suseentran (200m women) and high jumper Tejaswin Shankar subject to invitation from IAAF based on their world rankings.

However on Tuesday, the Athletics Federation of India tweeted from its official handle @afiindia that only Shankar has received the IAAF invitation in the evening. "AFI received the IAAF invite today evening. Only for Tejaswin Shankar," AFI posted in two separate tweets.

The AFI did not mention anything about Dutee nor retweet her of her selection.

Meanwhile, sprinter Hima Das has been named in the relay team for the Worlds, featuring 16 men and nine women, for the IAAF World Championships to be held in Doha from September 27 to October 6.

With less than a year to go for the Olympic Games in Tokyo, the well-prepared squad will carry the hopes of the track and field fans of the country.

World junior champion Das, who collected five gold medals in Europe in July, has been named as 4x400m relay runner.

The Athletics Federation of India (AFI) selection committee believes that the 4x400m relay teams will all perform better than they did in the World Relays in Yokohama in May.

"We have invested a lot of time in the 400m runners, getting them to train under renowned coach Galina Bukharina. We believe that the squad has been well prepared to deliver the best results on the World stage," AFI President Adille J Sumariwalla said.

The selectors also decided to conduct confirmatory trial for quartermiler Anjali Devi for selection in the team in individual women's 400m. The trial will be conducted on September 21 in Patiala.

Team named on Monday: Men: Jabir MP (400m hurdles), Jinson Johnson (1,500m), Avinash Sable (3,000m steeplechase), KT Irfan and Devender Singh (20km race walk), Gopi T (marathon), Sreeshankar M (long jump), Tajinder Pal Singh Toor (shot put), Shivpal Singh (javelin), Muhammed Anas, Nirmal Noah Tom, Alex Antony, Amoj Jacob, KS Jeevan, Dharun Ayyasamy and Harsh Kumar (4x400m men & mixed relay)
