Midfielder Emre Can has been named in Liverpool's 24-man squad for the much-hyped Champions League final against Real Madrid, which is to be held on Sunday, May 27, at the NSC Olimpiyskiy in Kiev, Ukraine.

Emre, who has recently regained full fitness after being sidelined since late March due to a back injury, could make his last appearance for Liverpool in the Champions League clash as his contract is all set expire next month and that he has also turned down an extension.

Meanwhile, youngsters Curtis Jones, Nat Phillips and Rafael Camacho have also been named in the Liverpool squad to face Real Madrid. It should be noted that no current player of the Liverpool side have appeared in a summit showdown of the Champions League.

Coach Zinedine Zidane has called up the entire Real squad for the Champions League final, with star striker Cristiano Ronaldo returning to fitness after an ankle injury. However, it is to be seen if Zidane will decide for Lucas Vasquez ahead of Gareth Bale on the right wing, despite the latter's recent upturn in form.

While the Jurgen Klopp-led side will be aiming to clinch the European title for a sixth time after claiming the silverware back in 2005, holders Real Madrid are bidding to for a third successive and 13th overall title.

Earlier, Madrid booked their place in the finals of the Champions League following an aggregate 4-3 win over Bayern Munich, while Klopp's side clinched a 7-6 aggregate win over As Roma to book their ticket to the finale. The two sides will begin the final stage of their preparations at the Olympic Stadium in Kiev on the eve of their final clash.

Head-to-head

Real Madrid hold the record of winning the European Cup most times - 12. Liverpool, on the other hand, have won it on five occassions. The two teams have played each other five times, with Real having won two and Liverpool three of those encounters.

Probable XIs

Real Madrid: Keylor Navas (goal-keeper), Dani Carvajal, Raphael Varane, Sergio Ramos (captain), Marcelo, Casemiro, Toni Kroos, Luka Modric, Lucas Vasquez, Karim Benzema, Cristiano Ronaldo.

Liverpool: Loris Karius (goal-keeper), Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virjil van Dijk, Dejan Lovren, Andrew Robertson, James Milner, Jordan Henderson (captain), Georginio Wijnaldum, Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino, Mohamed Salah.

Prediction

Although they've beaten the French champions (Paris Saint-Germain), Italian champions (Juventus) and German champions (Bayern Munich) en route the final, Real haven't quite been dominant this season. Proof of this is their performance in the La Liga where they finished in third position, 17 points adrift of first-placed Barcelona. Having said that, they know how to step it up on the biggest stage. A win on Sunday will complete a hat-trick of Champions League titles, and will be their fourth in the past five seasons. Liverpool have surprised many by getting this far. If they are to triumph, the front three of Mohamed Salah, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane will have to bring their A-game. The Merseyside club could have more desire on the night, but we're backing the Los Blancos to edge through.
