India's top badminton stars PV Sindhu, Saina Nehwal, B Sai Praneeth and Kidambi Srikanth will all be in action on Thursday in round 3 of the ongoing Badminton BWF World Championships 2018. India's lone remaining entry in doubles- Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Ashwini Ponnappa will also play their mixed doubles third round match on Thursday.

B Sai Praneeth advances to next round with a 21-13, 21-11 win against Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus of Denmark.

Praneeth is ruthless and takes the second game 21-11 easily.

Praneet is simply better than Vittinghus. He is making his opponent stretch, lead the game 14-8.

DEJA VU! The second game is following the same script as the first. The Dane take the early 4-2 lead. Praneet bounces back to level and then take the lead. He leads 11-7 at the break.

Praneeth continued to race away after the break. He takes the first game 21-13.

B Sai Praneeth is playing against Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus of Denmark.

Vittinghus started well with a 4-2 lead. However, Praneet quickly levelled and then took the lead. He goes into the break at 11-6.

Kidambi Srikanth crashes out of BWF World Championships after losing 18-21, 18-21 to Daren Liew.

Oh! Bad news for India. Kidambi Srikanth loses second game 18-21 to crash out of the tournament. The India was leading 14-13. However, Liew overtook to him for the lead and won the second game.

Kidambi is doing better in the second game. Srikanth jumped to 8-6 lead. However, Liew made it 9-6 in his favour. Srikanth snatched back the lead to make it 11-9 at the mid-game break.

Kidambi Srikanth is playing Daren Liew of Malaysia. Srikanth fights back after trailing 13-17. However, Liew wins the first game 21-18.

Saina Nehwal has entered the 4th round of BWF World Championships with 21-16, 21-19 victory over Ratchanok Intanon of Indonesia.

Inaton makes a late charge- after trailing 13-18, she came back to make it 19-19. It looked like she was going to force a decider. However, Saina keeps her cool to win 21-19.

Saina is playing well while Inaton is getting frustrated after making too many errors. However, she still is trying her best to keep pace with Saina. The Indian leads 11-8 at the break in the second game.

Inaton made too many errors after the break allowing Saina to widen the gap. Saina on the other hand was judging and playing really well. Inaton tries a late comeback but Saina easily takes the game 21-16.

Saina is in the lead at the mid-game break. Saina has done well to coma back after trailing. However, Intanon is not far behind. Both players are looking good. Great counters and sone beautiful points on display. Saina 11-9 Intanon.

BWF World Championships: India on Day 3 

PV Sindhu got past her Indonesian opponent Fitriani Fitriani to book her place in the third round on Wednesday. The Rio Olympics silver-medalist thrashed Fitriani 21-14, 21-9 in a one-sided clash that lasted 35 minutes.

In men's singles, ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth overcame unseeded Pablo Abian of Spain 21-15, 12-21, 21-14 to move into the third round of the tournament. 

B Sai Praneeth also entered the next round after defeating Spain's Lu s Enrique Penalver 21-18 21-11 to set up a meeting with Denmark's Hans-Kristian Solberg Vittinghus.

However, HS Prannoy crashed out of the tournament following a 21-8, 16-21, 15-21 loss to unseeded Brazilian Ygor Coelho in the second round. Sameer Verma too bowed out of the tournament after failing to get across former two-time Olympic champion Lin Dan, losing 17-21 14-21 in a 45-minute match.

It also turned out to be a disastrous day for the Indian doubles pairs as all of them lost their respective matches to crash out of the prestigious tournament.

Commonwealth Games silver medallists Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty did all the hard work but couldn't go the full distance, losing narrowly 18-21 21-15 16-21 to world no 8 Denmark pair of Kim Astrup and Anders Skaarup Rasmussen in men's doubles.

Ashwini Ponnapa and N Sikki Reddy were no match for second seeded Japanese combination of Yuki Fukushima and Sayaka Hirota, going down 14-21 15-21 in the second round women's doubles event.

National champions Manu Attri and B Sumeeth Reddy waged a gallant battle before losing 24-22 13-21 16-21 to seventh seed Takuto Inoue and Yuki Kaneko of Japan in men's doubles.
