Placed in Group A along with Bahrain and UAE – considered to be top teams in Asia –, India will take each match as it comes to get past the group stage. Thailand are currently ranked 118 in the FIFA rankings while India are at 97.
India hopes to rely on skipper Sunil Chhetri, who has been the team’s main goal scorer along with Jeje Lalpekhlua who hasn’t scored since June but could make a difference to the team.
