£750million kit deal makes Manchester United worlds most valuable club, replaces Real Madrid

Things couldn't have begun on a better note for Dutch manager Louis van Gaal, who joins the Manchester United on Wednesday, hours after they regained their position as the World's most valuable club. The club replaced Real Madrid at the top spot after signing a £750million kit deal with Adidas.

According to the Wall Street, United now boasts of an enterprise value of $3.6 billion, showing a considerable increase from its value of $2.81 billion in April. The new $130 million a year kit deal has helped ManU leap past clubs Real Madrid and Barcelona who'd been the top two clubs in value according to Forbes.

Though United will be disappointed to be missing out on the 2014-15 Champions League, a first since the 1995-96 season, because of finishing seventh in the Premier League table last season, they aren't wasting any time reminiscing about past demons. They are making every attempt to ensure that United’s absence from that competition will be a brief one.

The newly hired Louis Van Gaal, who was the former manager of Ajax, Barcelona and Bayern Munich, returns from directing Netherlands to a third place finish in the FIFA World Cup 2014. Joining with him are two new transferees—Ander Herrera from Athletic Bilbao and Luke Shaw from Southampton.

Shares of Manchester United rose by almost 5% on Tuesday after the announcement of German sportswear maker Adidas replacing its US rival, Nike. The deal with Adidas will begin during the 2015-16 season.
