Bill Goldberg is known for four things in the world of wrestling. Spear, jackhammer, short matches and a legendary streak. When Goldberg burst onto the scene in the mid-90s, he was part of a streak that would transform the wrestling business and make fans associate him with this forever. During Goldberg’s time in World Championship Wrestling (WCW), Goldberg won 173 matches on the trot and it became one of the greatest wrestling streaks in the business, although The Undertaker’s 21-0 in Wrestlemania is acknowledged as THE Streak in wrestling. There are also speculations in some websites that Goldberg’s streak was 153-0.

Goldberg would arrive at the arena, finish the match off in a couple of seconds and then coin the catch phrase, “Who’s Next?” The streak came to an end in WCW’s pay-per-view of Starrcade in December 1998 when he was defeated officially for the first time by Kevin Nash. The streak was over. However, one former WWE legend has claimed that his streak was much more bigger than Goldberg’s. In fact, his streak was something like 1000-0. The feat, as explained by the WWE legend, would put him on an even greater pedestal than Goldberg. The WWE legend in question is Tatanka.

Tatanka’s 500 matches a year

Speaking to Boston Wrestling MWF’s Dan Mirade and featuring in Sportskeeda, WWE legend Tatanka had said that he was undefeated for two years. In the interaction, he said he would wrestle 500 matches in a year and this would not include the TV telecasts of programs under Vince McMahon. The claim from Tatanka, whose real name is Chris Chavin.

Currently, both Tatanka and Goldberg were part of the legends reunion on Raw that was aired recently. Goldberg made a surprise return to the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) ring on Monday Night RAW, in the first event of the year 2021. Golberg, who has been part of the WWE Hall of Fame, gatecrashed the younger WWE superstar Drew McIntyre's championship run and challenged him for the WWE Championship. McIntyre retained his title after beating Keith Lee in the Legends Night edition of the RAW on Monday. Goldberg announced himself on the RAW stage by accusing McIntyre of underestimating the Legends of WWE, who have had come and won championships before him and then said that he had no demands but just wanted to challenge McIntyre for the title at WWE Royal Rumble. McIntyre refuting the allegations said that fighting Goldberg will be like fighting with his dad.

McIntyre was thrown to the mat by Goldberg subsequently, before an interruption in the feed after McIntyre punched right back at Goldberg. The two will take on in the pay-per-view clash, which will air on January 31, live from Florida. Goldberg returned to WWE after 10 years and defeated Brock Lesnar in 89 seconds in the 2016 Survivor series and it underlined his legendary status.
