West Brom manager Tony Pulis has accused Alexis Sanchez of “cheating” after Arsenal’s 2-0 win over his side.

Pulis accused Sanchez of 'diving' and said that he team should have had a penalty of their own after Jay Rodriguez was brought down in the box.

"The disappointing thing is Sanchez falls for the first free-kick, that's cheating," Pulis, who also felt Mustafi should have been sent off.

"Jay is very honest and does not get rewarded. Everyone saw what happened. Sanchez actually dives for the first free-kick and he should be booked for diving. Then you see the tackle in the box. The referee had a great view. Everyone has seen it and can make their minds up."

West Brom's Jay Rodriguez was brought down inside the box but the striker kept on playing without appealing for a penalty.

However, no foul was given by referee Bobby Madley, much to the frustration of manager Tony Pulis on the touchline and Rodriguez himself. "For me I felt contact and I went down and I was waiting for the foul to be given but it wasn't," the striker told Sky Sports. "For me it was a penalty, but you get them and you don't... It's difficult when it's 0-0 and if you get the decision you can get a goal which changes the game."

"It's not only a foul but the player can be sent off as well. It can be a penalty and playing against 10 men but let's forget about the referee," Pulis said.

Arsenal first scored in the 20th minute when Alexandre Lacazette headed in the rebound from another of Sanchez's free-kicks, and then in the 67th when the Frenchman struck from the penalty spot after Aaron Ramsey was fouled by Allan Nyom.

West Brom midfielder Gareth Barry set a new Premier League appearance record, breaking that previously held by Ryan Giggs, and Pulis said of his captain for the evening: "Gareth has been a wonderful professional and still is. We hope he keeps performing like that until the end of the season."

Arsenal moved up to seventh in the league on 10 points, six behind both Manchester clubs at the top. West Brom dropped to 12th and have now gone five games without a win in all competitions. The Gunners can continue their home run on Sunday against Brighton and Hove Albion, a day after West Brom host Watford. (
