Whole Newcastle United squad in self-isolation after COVID-19 outbreak at the club

The whole squad of Newcastle United club has been put into self isolation after COVID-19 outbreak. The club's training facility was closed and mass testings were carried out on Monday.

According to The Guardian Tuesday newspaper and the local media, the training ground is unlikely to open before Thursday at the earliest. While, Newcastle play their next Premier League game on Friday, against Aston Villa.

If at least 14 players are available to play, including the ones from the youth side, the team must fulfill the schedule requirements, as per the guidelines of the competition during the pandemic.

The league on Monday said that 10 members had tested positive for COVID-19, among players and support staff following the last round of tests.

Even though, there hasn't been any postponement or disruption due to the pandemic in the Premier League, both - the Newcastle United and the league - haven't commented publicly on the situation.
