A month-long celebration will see artists from participating nations display their idea of football world cup.

To mark the official opening of FIFA World Cup 2018 in Russia, Google put up a special doodle that is work of 32 artists from the participating nations.
Men's national teams of 32 countries will battle it out on Football fields across 12 venues in 11 cities of Russia until two of these teams reach the final match to be held at Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow on July 15. While Germany are defending champions, former winners like Argentina, Brazil, Spain, France, Portugal, who are current Euro cup winners, will vie to get the coveted trophies. Countries like Iceland and Panama are happy to embark on their maiden voyage in the tournament.
Google asked the guest artists from these participating nations what football/soccer looks like in their country. They brought out their thoughts on the canvas and day one doodle is done by Gluekit who brought together these illustrations celebrating the diverse cultures of the participating countries. Doodles by following artists will be displayed in a month-long series.
