Kylian Mbappe, who won the Best Young Player award for his performances at FIFA World Cup 2018, has said that his chances of joining La Liga side Real Madrid this summer are ‘impossible’.

Mbappe, who currently plies his trade in French Ligue 1 for Paris Saint-Germain on loan from Monaco, is adamant that he will be staying with PSG for another campaign.

Real Madrid are looking for a forward to replace Cristiano Ronaldo who has left for Juventus. Mbappe and Belgium's Eden Hazard are being called the favourites to join the La Liga side.

However, when about a potential move to Madrid this summer after the World Cup final, Mbappe told reporters, "No, I have a contract with PSG, I’m happy with this team."

"At the moment, this transfer is absolutely impossible."

19-year-old Mbappe became the first teenager since Pele to score in a World Cup final on Sunday as France beat Croatia 4-2 to lift their second world title.

Mbappe was one of France’s key players at the tournament and impressed everyone. The forward spent last season on loan at PSG from Monaco and helped guide the club to the domestic treble. PSG must now pay €180 million (£165.7m) to make the move permanent.
