World T20 qualifiers Oman v/s Netherlands Match Updates: Game washed out due to rain, Holland out
Rain delay

Welcome to the match updates of the T20 World Cup qualifier between Oman and Netherlands. The match takes place at Dharamsala.

Oman won the toss and opted to bowl first.

Oman have won their encounter against Ireland, while Netherlands lost to Bangladesh earlier this week. Therefore, Netherlands must win this match to remain in the competition.

For Ireland though, an Oman win will be disastrous. It has been raining and the match has been delayed. A washout seems very likely, which will also not be a good result for Ireland.

Both Oman and Netherlands have made one change each. Netherlands have brought in seamer Ahsan Malik for Canterbury-born allrounder Logan van Beek, while Rajeshkumar Ranpura replaced top-order batsman Jatinder Singh.

Squads:

Netherlands: Stephen Myburgh, Wesley Barresi (wk), Ben Cooper, Peter Borren (capt), Tom Cooper, Roelof van der Merwe, Pieter Seelar, Ahsan Malik,Mudassar Bukhari, Timm van der Gugten, Paul van Meekeren.

Oman: Zeeshan Maqsood, Khawar Ali, Rajeshkumar Ranpura , Adnan Ilyas, Mehran Khan, Aamir Kaleem, Amir Ali, Sultan Ahmed (capt. & wk), Ajay Lalcheta, Munis Ansari, Bilal Khan.

The game has been abandoned due to rain, without a ball being bowled.

This means that Netherlands crash out and Oman find themselves in a good position to qualify for the main tournament.

Holland skipper Peter Borren was candid. "There's extreme disappointment. We've put in a lot of time, effort and energy in trying to qualify. For it to end like this after having lost to Bangladesh in a closely-fought game, we are gutted. We could done a lot of things better in that game, it will haunt us for a while."
