When Australia thumped American Samoa 31-0 in 2002 FIFA World Cup Qualification

Qualifying for FIFA World Cup is a dream for any team. Some teams see their dream come true, some don't. But things were a bit more than horrible for the team, American Samoa, who were thumped 31-0 by Australia in the qualification stages. American Samoa finished bottom of the table with a goal differnce of -57. To add to this, they didn't score a single goal in the entire qualification stage while conceding 57!

The match had a World record for largest victory in an international football match, winning the game 31–0. Australia's Archie Thompson also broke the record for most goals scored by a player in an international match by scoring 13 goals.
