On July 25, Jose Maria Gutierrez Hernandez, popularly known as Guti, left Real Madrid after nearly 25 years of service, including 15 years in the first team, for the club. A day after the midfield general departed, long-term striker and top scorer Raul Gonzalez announced his departure, too. Guti signed a two-year contract with the Turkish club.
