Vijender Singh is like family to me: Sushil Kumar

It's a camaraderie that grew during the Beijing Olympics when both won bronze medal in their respective events. And champion wrestler Sushil Kumar savours every moment of his friendship with maverick pugilist Vijender Singh.

World Champion Sushil feels that it's privilege to have a friend like Vijender and he is like "family" to him.

"It's always a great feeling to talk to Vijender. We keep a track of each other's performances. Like when I was coming for this media conference, I wished him luck for his semifinal bout. Also when I won the World Championship, Vijender was one of the first to congratulate me," Sushil told the reporters during an interaction today.

Sushil also informed that Vijender's father has been very supportive.

"Vijender's dad loves me a lot. He was present during my final bout yesterday. It was great to see him in the stands. It's like myself and Vijender belong to one family," a beaming Sushil said.

However the wrestler denied rumours of his plans of marrying guru Satpal's daughter.

"I don't know from where these rumours were floated. All of you will get to know when I get married. You don't hide such things," Sushil stated.
