The growing trend of schoolchildren testing positive for drugs doesn’t seem to be ending. The National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) revealed on Wednesday that two more athletes had failed the dope test.

Two hammer throwers have tested positive for anabolic steroids from samples collected during the National School Games in Ludhiana last month.

Earlier, NADA had caught 11 athletes across three disciplines (boxing, wrestling and weightlifting) using banned substances.
The incident had sent shockwaves through the sports fraternity and NADA director general Rahul Bhatnagar had warned that more positive results could be expected from the athletics events.

“NADA had collected 30 samples. The results of these 30 samples have been received from the National Dope Testing Laboratory. Out of the 30 samples, two have given positive results for dope. They relate to hammer throwers. The banned substances found in their sample are Stenozolol and Methen Dianone (methandienone),” said Bhatnagar in a statement.
