Islam Gymkhana’s Sahil Khan registered a comfortable 3-0 win over Kashif Dalwai to qualify for the second phase of the Islam Gymkhana-BSAM Open snooker tournament here on Thursday.
Khan had a relatively easy outing.

After winning the first two frames comfortably (44-15 69-21), Borivli boy Dalwai posed a challenge in the third. However, Khan maintained his composure and won 57-37.

Khan has won all his matches in the tournament so far. The 26-year-old cueist was elated. “I am happy to have qualified for the next round,” he said. “As we go higher, the stages will get tougher and competitive.”

Talking about the game against Dalwai, Khan said: “I won the first two frames comfortably. However, the third was a tough one. It stretched a bit, but I am happy with the result.”

In another exciting final qualifying round tie, Abhishek Soparkar of Thane lived dangerously before overcoming Anas Chandiwala of Surat 28-42 65-32 34-32 4-52 57-17.
