Fearless hitting by opener Irshad Sindhi and skipper Yusuf Pathan helped Baroda script a six-wicket win over Gujarat in the West Zone Twenty20 League at the Deccan Gymkhana here on Thursday.
Chasing 177, Baroda were in a spot of bother at 29 for 2 after six overs. Pathan walked in and played a blinder of a knock to rescue Baroda. The India discard crossed the half-century mark with the help of six sixes and two boundaries in just 21 deliveries.
Pathan’s fierce hitting inspired Sindhi and he joined the party with some cracking shots. The opener scored 88 off 52 balls, including seven sixes and six fours
