The love-hate triangle involving Pakistani cricketer and Indian tennis ace Sania Mirza and a Hyderabad based girl, Ayesha Siddiqui, has dominated the news headlines over the past two weeks, and people not only in the two neighbouring countries, but across the globe, have been following the controversy on the internet.

Pakistani net surfers top the chart when it comes to looking for Sania-Shoaib wedding controversy, and interestingly web users in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) have also been following the issue with great curiosity.

Indian net users are only on the third spot when it comes to searching for new developments surrounding the star sports couple marriage.

Search trends on the Internet on the basis of keywords on a daily basis reveal that the Sania-Shoaib marriage controversy has attracted a lot of Net users in the last seven days which has consequently brought these key words into the most searched trend, The News reports.

But what is more noticeable is that none of the Indian cities are on the list of top three cities searching for latest gossip on the issue. Lahore tops the chart followed by Islamabad, Karachi and Abu Dhabi. Chennai comes fifth followed by Mumbai and New Delhi.

Though Sania and Shoaib were the most frequently searched key words, Ayesha Siddiqui also joined the list in the later half of the issue, which has become a matter of debate in media across the border.

Social networking sites are also flooded with minute-to-minute updates on the issue from enthusiasts who have been pursuing the story, which has offered more twists and turns than a Bollywood masala flick.
