East Delhi MP Sandeep Dikshit today criticised authorities concerned for not making adequate arrangements to impart training to sports persons who will be participating in next year's Commonwealth Games.

Dikshit's comments came in presence of his mother and chief minister Sheila Dikshit, who launched the ITO Chungi underpass in East Delhi.

Sandeep said no proper attention has been given to impart training to players and focus was only on building infrastructure and stadia for the Games.

Winning medals at the sporting event should be our primary goal, he said.

The East Delhi MP also slammed agencies including Delhi Urban Art Commission for creating hurdles in implementation of various projects.

"They must become partner in developmental schemes instead of putting objections," he said.

When asked about her son's criticism, the chief minister said training to the sports persons was being given.

"The sports persons who will participate in the event are being trained. Some things do not get visibility," she said.
