Pune: Olympian Samaresh Jung grabbed gold in the 10th Kumar Surendra Singh Memorial Shooting Championship, which is being organised by the National Rifle Association of India and conducted by the Maharashtra Rifle Association in Pune.
Jung, who represents CSF, won the top position in the men's 25m standard pistol event with 569 points, leaving BSF's Mahendra Singh behind by two points. Army's Vijay Kumar bagged bronze medal with 565 points. Meanwhile, Maharashtra's Tejaswini Muley earned two golds by winning the women's 50m sport rifle 3-position with 659.2 points and later junior women's 50m sport rifle 3-position by 563 points. In the senior women catetgory, Muley left Railways' Suma Shirur (657.0) and Maharashtra's Tejaswini Sawant (656.2) behind.
In the junior category, NCC's Shikha won the silver with 556 points, while Maharashtra's Ruchira Lawandwon the bronze with 556 (15x).
