The legendary Rahul Dravid was the only man who came away with his reputation intact in India’s 0-4 drubbing at the hands of England in the Tests.

His terrific showing in the series made the selectors name him in the limited overs squad.

Always the team man, Dravid said he was grateful to the selectors and announced that he will retire from limited overs cricket at the end of the England tour.

Thus he now finds himself about to make his T20 debut tonight in the only match against England.

This will also be his last T20 format.

Join us in wishing the legend a pleasant welcome. And farewell.

ANI’s Praful Kumar Singh reports from London

England Twenty20 captain Stuart Broad insists that it would be a mistake to underestimate the injury-hit Indian team.

India will face England in Manchester for a one-off Twenty20 international today with Gautam Gambhir, Yuvraj Singh, Virender Sehwag, Zaheer Khan, Ishant Sharma and Harbhajan Singh out with injuries.

“Obviously India has suffered a few injuries, but that happens on any tour. But, you know Indian players and the young guys they have got a lot of talent around and I mean any side that can bring Rahul Dravid in the team will be strong,” Broad said.

He also emphasised the need for England to be in excellent form to face the world champions of one-day cricket.

“We expect India to come very hard at us as you can expect from a world-class ODI side. That is something to be aware of, but not something to worry about, we need to focus on what we do,” Broad said.

“The Indian team has obviously been a Twenty20 champion, but we will still stick to our strengths. It is important that we be in good form,” he added.
