Pune: The Pune police are hunting for a woman who had allegedly stayed with Pakistan-born American national David Coleman Headley during his visits to Pune. Headley had visited Pune in July 2008 and March 2009. He had also obtained a photo identity card from the Osho International Meditation Resort after giving an HIV test for which he tested negative. He had stayed at Hotel Surya Villa on North Main Road, close to the Osho Commune and the Jewish Chabad House, both of which are now under high security.

The Pune police have stumbled upon clues suggesting that he stayed with a call girl while in a Pune hotel. They are now probing this angle by questioning pimps. "We have got some inputs that Headley had stayed in the hotel with a woman. We are trying to ascertain whether this call girl was from Pune or from elsewhere," a police official told DNA.

Police sources said that Headley had used an 'escorts' website to get in touch with agents for organising a call girl during his stay in Pune. These agents provide the details of call girls to the foreign nationals visiting the Koregaon Park area.

A top police official said that they are also investigating whether Headley visited Pune more than twice and if he did, who he met and for what purpose.

Recently, the Osho Meditation Resort, formerly the Osho Commune, submitted a letter to the Pune police and intelligence agencies stating that a US national by the name of David Coleman Headley had visited Pune on two occasions, March 16, 2009 and July 24, 2008, and stayed for a day each at the resort.

Police confirmed that Headley had stayed at Hotel Surya Villa near the German Bakery in Koregaon Park in March 2009. He had checked in at 6.15am on March 16, 2009 and departed the next day at 8.15am.
