There is a lot of basketball left in the finals, believes Dwayne Wade, the Miami Heat forward.

“The series is long way from over. There is a lot of basketball left,” the star player said on the eve of Game Six.

“We’re back home and we would rather have it here than anywhere else,” he declared.

Going into penultimate game, Miami trail Dallas Mavericks 2-3 and must win the remaining two games to win the title. “I wouldn’t want it any other way,” he said. “We’re going to take it one game at a time. We have to find a way out to win the game. It’s just about going on the court and doing it.”

Wade also defended his teammate LeBron James, who has been under fire for lacklustre performances in the finals. “Everyone wants him to score 40 points. They want him to make every shot he takes. LeBron understands he has to be LeBron. He is going to be LeBron no matter what. He is going to do what he wants to do. I thought he did a good job in Game Five,” Wade said, coming to the defence of the star forward.

James, however, admitted that he has not being aggressive enough but claimed he wants to help the team win the championship. “I’ve seen myself being less aggressive at times. I have not been in a good rhythm offensively,” he said and then went on to add: “It is nothing that I’ve seen over the finals I did not know coming into the series. I understood this is a huge series and a huge stage. I want to play well and I want to help this team win the championship.”

Dallas’ star players Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Terry, who were part of the unsuccessful finals in 2006, said they do not want to lose the opportunity this time around. “I don’t allow myself to sit back and relax now. In these playoffs, one win or loss can switch the whole momentum. I don’t want myself sit back all of a sudden and be satisfied. We got one more big win hopefully to get and then I can be satisfied. We’re a veteran team and we can’t get too high with the highs. We addressed it today and hopefully we’ll be ready for tomorrow,” said Nowitzki.

Terry said Dallas want to seize the moment. “It is all about this moment right here knowing that you may not have another opportunity to be in this position again. We’re thinking about coming out in the first quarter, being aggressive and maintaining that aggression for 48 minutes.”

Nowitzki too hoped to seal the deal on Sunday itself. “We’ve got to steal one more game on the road, hopefully the next one. We feel we have been good on the road all playoffs long. We have a bunch of veterans that are road-tested and hopefully we can get a big tomorrow,” Nowitzki said.
