Montpellier move level on points with leaders Bordeaux

Surprise package Montpellier beat Ligue 1 bottom side Grenoble 1-0 on Saturday to move level on points with leaders Girondins Bordeaux.  

Striker Victor Montano scored the only goal just before the half-hour mark, boosting his promoted team's chances of qualifying for European competition next season.

Montpellier have 48 points along with Bordeaux, who are top on goal difference and face Saint-Etienne on Sunday.

Olympique Marseille won 2-1 at Monaco thanks to a late own goal by home defender Nkoulou Ndoubena and have moved up one place to fourth with 42 points from 23 games.
