Jose Mourinho signs Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor on loan

Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho has signed Manchester City striker Emmanuel Adebayor on loan to solve his striker problem.

Mourinho desperately needs a striker as Argentinian star Gonzalo Higuain has been ruled out for four months with a back injury.

Adebayor will have a medical at the Bernabeu today before signing the deal, which will give him a Champions League lifeline, The Sun reports.

The 26-year-old has started just two games for City this season, but Real Madrid will be looking at a £16 million transfer at the end of the season.

“Real Madrid and Manchester City have reached a deal that will see Emmanuel Adebayor play on loan,” Real Madrid said in a statement.

“The player will remain at Real Madrid until the end of the current season, at which point the club hold a unilateral option to purchase the player,” it added.
