IPL 5: Delhi Daredevils land in Bangalore

The Delhi Daredevils were welcomed by dark clouds here on Friday. And surely, Virender Sehwag wasn’t complaining. After all, his team just won a rain-curtailed match in Kolkata the other night. In any case, Sehwag would prefer a thunderstorm to a ‘Gayle Storm’ when his boys take on Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Chinnaswamy on Saturday.

Gayle, who has finally reached an understanding with the West Indies Cricket Board, would be hoping to celebrate the end of his pariah status with a typically swashbuckling knock in his side’s opener at home. Gayle is carrying a niggle, but that is unlikely to stop him from playing on Saturday. Then there’s Virat Kohli, Saurabh Tiwary and AB de Villiers, the latter expected to keep wickets.

The hosts are wary of Sehwag’s ability and are hoping to contain him. The visitors are high on confidence after their win in Kolkata and all eyes will, once again, be on Irfan Pathan. The weatherman has predicted rain and the toss could be crucial.
