IOC, ONGC continue to hold joint lead at PSPB chess tournament

The tussle for the top spot continued between IOC A and ONGC A, who continued to jointly lead the table with 13 points after two rounds of the XXIII PSPB Inter-Unit Chess Tournament, being hosted by HPCL at the HP Nagar Housing Complex Club in Chembur. The leaders are followed by BPCL B, who tallied 12.5 points.

Surya Shekhar Ganguly ELO (2625) of IOC (A) defeated Abhijeet Gupta ELO (2624) of BPCL A in Grunfeld defense game. Top seed K Shasikiran ELO (2689) defeated Baruah. Grand Master Abhijeet Kunte of IOC A ELO (2548) signed a peace treaty with Pentala Harikrishna of BPCL A in only 11 moves of a Catalan opening game.
