Under fire for not taking any action against Suresh Kalmadi, the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) has called for an executive committee meeting to decide the future of its president.
Acting president VK Malhotra said that the meeting will be held at the earliest and its outcome will be conveyed to the International Olympic Committee (IOC). “IOA has called the meeting of its executives board to discuss the letter received by it from the IOC and other important matters,” Malhotra said in a release.
The IOC had threatened to take action if the national body did not make its stand clear on Kalmadi. Malhotra said he has asked the IOA secretary general Randhir Singh to fix a date for the meeting.
